Who would have thought that two guys writing about a boring subject like bonds could be rated as cool.

Well, that's just what is happening to A S Johan and Eric Chen. Both accountant type money men who have known each other for well over 15 years and have come together to pen a new book on, of all things, Offshore Renminbi Bonds.

Of course Offshore Renminbi bonds like all things Chinese these days is COOL. The authors say that that their book will not be boring because it focuses on the practicality of such bond issues - hence the title "Offshore Renminbi Bonds - A guide for issuers and investors"

James Bond’s Aston Martin up for grabs

According to a post in Elite Choice cars have been an integral part of the James Bond sagas. There is probably no technological contraption that hasn’t been tried on the cars featuring in the spy movies. They have had bulletproof bodies to escape enemy attacks unscathed, hidden missile launchers to blast the enemy into shreds, inflatable devices to keep the cars afloat in water, and what not. The fictional M12 secret agent has had his fair share of cars/boats/planes/etc.

The imagination and hard work of those behind these interesting creations definitely paid off, as the cars of the movies tantalized the many fans. While watching the James Bond movies they would wish, that what if they owned one of these fabulous cars. Well, their wish can now come true.

Those few lucky ones with the big bucks can own a 1964 Aston Martin DB4, which was used in the production of the Sean Connery stared 1964 classic, Gold Finger. this car was originally made for the publishing tycoon Max Aitken.

Though the car was not actually used in the movie, it was used as a model for making the add- ons.

The auction will be carried out by the prestigious auction house Bonhams on May22 and is expected to earn about £40–£60,000 ($59–$89,000). It is part of Bonhams’ Aston Martin car sale, the only auction in the world devoted to models and memorabilia connected with the sports car company.

Non-materialistic women wanted for Chinese millionaires

According to a story by Zhang Hui writing for the Global times, a blind date party for millionaires was held in Beijing Prince Jun hotel on Sunday night.

Twenty- one male millionaires paid 100,000 Yuan each ($14,650) for a "ticket" and 22 women who don't worship Mammon were selected to attend the party.

The millionaires aged from 26 to 46, with personal assets all exceeding 100 million Yuan ($14.65 million), were from all over the country.

The 100,000 Yuan they each paid for the event guarantees them one year of personal ads, Xiao Pu, marketing manager of a marriage website, which organized the party, told the Global Times.
Half of the 22 women are successful entrepreneurs who registered on the website and also paid service fees of 100,000 to 300,000 Yuan ($43,950). The rest, mostly recent graduates from universities, were carefully selected by the organizer and didn't have to pay a fee. The women were chosen according to a test of character and an in-depth interview about values and attitudes on life and money.

"We want those who are not materialistic or money-oriented," said Xiao. The women's ages ranged from 21 to 30. Besides an introduction session and a talent show, the event also had a wedding gown show. Xiao said that about 80 percent of the participants found someone they are interested in before the party ended.

When asked about the 100,000 Yuan fee, Xiao said that her company deserves to be paid for its service. "It is a game for the rich. For me, it is nothing more than a Cinderella dream," said Liu Nina, 24, a salesperson at an Italian company.

Zuo Sisi, 23, from Chongqing, took part in the party. She now works as a photographer and has already built up her own studio. She said she doubted the credibility of the party before learning more from the organizer.

"At the party, a young man from Beijing who was quite humorous and charming caught my eye," Zuo said.

The annual blind date party for millionaires was started three years ago, and the first party was held on a cruise ship in Shanghai.

One of China’s Richest Men - Li Shufu Just Got Richer!

According to Forbes Li Shufu is driving up the ranks of China's richest.

After his Geely Automobile reported 2009 sales that exceeded expectations and forecast further growth for 2010, its stock price soared. The chairman of this Hangzhou-based carmaker with overseas aspirations is now worth more than $2 billion, up from $1.3 billion since the November publication of Forbes' list of China's richest people.

If investors keep Geely's share price up, Li will easily make the top 40 of next year's list, joining tycoons like Robin Li, co-founder of search engine giant Baidu, Zong Qinghou, head of food-and-beverage retailer Wahaha, and Zhang Xin, chief of real estate firm Soho China.

Li is however still quite far from challenging Wang Chuanfu, China's richest person who sits atop the corporate hierarchy of another automaker.
